Cost for two steamed eggs and toast: $.62
I got up early this morning after traveling and was excited to make myself an egg, so chose this recipe to start my day. I frequently make eggs, usually fixing just one at a time, throughout the week and make them in different fashions, but I had never tried a steamed egg, so this was a treat. Yum yum.
I steamed the egg for 6 minutes as directed and almost wished that I had steamed it for only 5 minutes, which would have given me a yolkier middle, which I love. Over easy eggs are often a go-to for me because of the creamy yolk.
I could almost swear that this steamed egg had a whole new flavor that I had never tasted before in an egg. I was pleasantly delighted and almost wanted to eat both of the eggs that I had made. I even made some toast soldiers to go with and it was so much fun dipping them in the middle of the egg.
Eggs are a perfect way to start your day, and this type of egg is so quick and easy to make, and I will definitely make it again for myself!
